Watch: Clash Took Place Between Police And Migrants Who Protested To Go Home In AP

Mumbai: Andhra Pradesh Police lathi charged on the migrants who protested to go home in West Godavari’s Kovvuru region yesterday.

Around 2,000 workers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh protested to be sent to their Home States. The police had tried to persuade them followed by stone pelting by the protesters.

The region has been defined as a containment zone following which the migrants could not be sent home as per the guidelines.

The Police tried to clarify that transport will be arranged within 3 days. The crowd allegedly started throwing stones at the officers. In retaliation, the Police had to Lathicharge.

However, on 1st May, the MHA had allowed the movement of Migrants to their home states after medically screening them at the point of origin as well as destination.

Andhra Pradesh currently witnesses 1,650 cases with 524 recoveries and 36 fatalities.
