We Are Terminating Our Relationship With WHO: US President Donald Trump

Mumbai: The United States President, Donald Trump said that the US will terminate its relationship with the WHO and will redirect the funds from WHO to other organizations, according to Reuters.

In a statement alleging WHO he said “China has total control over WHO despite only paying $40 million a year compared to what the US has been paying which is approximately $450 million per year.”

He has also alleged WHO of inadequate response to the early outbreak of coronavirus in China’s Wuhan.

Trump also initiated mild sanctions against China. He said that he will ban Chinese researchers studying in the US and will seek action against Chinese companies listed in the U.S stock exchange whose practices are inconsistent with U.S laws.

The US also claims the withdrawal of special trade and travel status and privileges given to Hong Kong.

Trump blamed his predecessor admins and presidents for allowing China ‘to rip off’ US.

The tensions between the US and WHO with regard to China has been worsening. However, there is no official statement given by the WHO.
