We Must Reject 5-Acre Alternate Land Offer, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi
Mumbai: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi reacting to the Supreme Court over Ayodhya verdict said India is becoming ‘Hindu Rashtra’ (Hindu nation).
Addressing a press conference, soon after the court asked the Centre to allot 5-acre of alternate land to Muslim parties for construction of the new mosque, Owaisi said that Muslims are not begging for 5-acres.
“Not satisfied with the verdict. The Supreme Court is indeed supreme but not infallible. We have full faith in the Constitution, we were fighting for our rights, we do not need 5 acres of land as a donation. We should reject the proposal of this 5-acre land,” Owaisi said.
He also lambasted the Congress for welcoming the SC verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute. “The Congress has shown its true colours, but for the deception and hypocrisy of the Congress party, the idols would not have been placed in 1949. Had the locks not been opened by Rajiv Gandhi, the mosque (mosque) would still be there, Narasimha Rao had discharged his duties, the mosque would still be there ”, claimed the AIMIM leader.
Earlier in the day, Sunni Waqf Board lawyer Zafaryab Jilani expressed his dissatisfaction against the verdict. Jilani said, “We respect the verdict but we are not satisfied, the Muslim side will review the verdict.” There is a lot of contradiction in the Ayodhya decision. ‘
