We Will Not Allow Our Airspace For PM Narendra Modi’s Flight: Pakistan Foreign Ministry

Mumbai: Pakistan has denied India’s request for PM Modi’s aircraft to pass through its airspace for its upcoming visit to the United States.

Earlier in the day, India sent a prior request to Pakistan to allow the use of its airspace for the Prime Minister’s forthcoming US visit on 21–27 September.

“We have conveyed to the Indian High Commission that we will not allow our air space for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flight,” Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said.

“India has formally requested Pakistan to allow the use of its air space for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flight to New York, US.

After being requested by India, Islamabad said that it would announce its decision after consultation. However, Pakistan has now made it clear that it will not allow India to use its airspace.

Pakistan had fully closed its airspace in February for India after an IAF strike on a Balakot-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp.
