We Will Not Tolerate Such Things, Says MP Home Minister On Web Series ‘Tandav’

Mumbai:  Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said in a row on Tandwa of Amazon Prime India on Thursday, as several complaints have been filed against the web series for hurting religious sentiments.

“When we react to an act, they say that we are causing chaos. Why do you act that such a response is needed? We will not tolerate such things at all. The court has not allowed them to Provided relief and so they are safe. Otherwise, they would have been behind bars,” Mishra told reporters in Bhopal.

On Wednesday, Mishra said that the Madhya Pradesh government would file a case against the web series of Amazon Prime India.

Taking cognizance of the concerns expressed by viewers against the web series, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar apologized on Monday and clarified that Tandava is a “work of fiction” and that the cast and crew of ‘Tandav’ did not have any intentions of hurting sentiments of any community, caste, or religion.

The Bombay High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Ali Abbas Zafar, the director of the web series ‘Tandav’ and 3 others in an FIR lodged in Uttar Pradesh to enable him to approach the appropriate court for regular pre-arrest bail, said Aniket Ujjwal Nikam, lawyer of the accused on Wednesday.
