Weekend Lockdown Imposed In Nashik Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases

Mumbai: To prevent the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19, the Nashik district administration has imposed a weekend lockdown with several restrictions. The lockdown will be effective from today.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray took stock of the situation in the state. The district administration has said that no marriages will be allowed from March 15.

However, there will be no restriction on organising functions which had got permission early.

Meanwhile, schools, colleges and coaching classes will remain closed in Nashik city, Malegaon. The temple, the mosque will remain open till 7 pm. Over the weekend, places of worship will remain closed.

In addition, scheduled exams like UPSC and MPSC will be conducted as usual. The administration clarified that no new proposal will be made. All shops and establishments will be closed from 7 pm to 7 am. Essential services will be allowed. Restaurants will be shut by 9 pm. Takeaway permitted till 11 pm.
