West Indies In One Of The Competitve Side:India Bowling Coach Bharat Arun

Mumbai: After defeating West Indies in a nail baiting T20 Serie, Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun said that opposition (WI) has a great bowling unit and he termed them as as a ‘competitive side’ ahead of the three-match ODI series.

Arun told reporters here on Friday, “We have won two of the last three matches, in which bowling is also done well. So I am sure we have the bowling to ban them, but the West Indies Is also extremely competitive.”

India won the three-match T20 series 2–1 after winning the last match in Mumbai by 67 runs. Batting first, the home team scored a total of 240 runs. In response, the visitors were able to reach 173/8 in just 20 overs.
Arun said that bowlers always have a chance to take wickets when batsmen attack them.

Arun said, “Every time batsmen come after you (bowler), you also have a chance against them. Dew is something that happens for both teams, so we are not worried about it ”

Meanwhile, Arun spoked about young all-rounder Shivam Dube who showed his brilliant performance in last two T20 series, the bowling coach said, “He is an exciting prospect and I think he is gaining confidence with every game. I’m sure he is an exciting talent for us. As he gains in confidence he would become a good all-rounder.”

India is trying out different players keeping in mind the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in Australia next year.

“You plan far ahead for the World Cup. You want to try your different combinations, you want to try the players in different situations, and then understand what’s best. All the players here as a resource to you I believe in. How can you do the best you can. ” Arun said to use the resources on which number one will bat and where to bowl, understanding these aspects will be very important for the World Cup.

“If you look at Jadeja then you are the readymade all-rounder for us. He has been exceptional for us since the World Cup. He adds a lot of dimensions to us. I am sure Washington will claim its best for one. They said.”

India will take on West Indies in the first ODI at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, December 15.
