Mumbai: In an effort to curb coronovirus disease, the Maharashtra government on Monday announced more strict guidelines for shops selling groceries, vegetables, etc
As per the Maharashtra government’s latest order, all groceries, vegetable shops, fruit vendors, dairies, bakeries and confectionaries can open only from 7 am to 11 am till May 1.
All type of food shops (including chicken, mutton, poultry, fish and eggs), shops related to agricultural implements and farm produce are also included.
According to the order, Home delivery from the said shops however may be allowed between 7 am to 8 pm. However, the local authorities have been given permission to change the timings.
The drastic measures were announced when it was found that people were moving out of their homes throughout the day in the name of buying groceries and crowding the markets.
Maharashtra on April 19 recorded 58,924 fresh coronavirus infections, pushing the tally to 38,98,262. The deadly contagious virus also claimed 351 more lives, taking the death toll to 60,824.
