Which States Saw Highest & Lowest Voter Turnouts In Lok Sabha Polls Today?
Mumbai: West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Monday, with an impressive 73% of the electorate casting their votes. This phase saw varied participation across different states and union territories, reflecting the diverse engagement levels of voters.
Following West Bengal, Ladakh saw a significant turnout of 67.15%, demonstrating strong voter participation in the region. Jharkhand also reported a healthy turnout, with 61.90% of voters heading to the polls.
Other states showed moderate levels of voter engagement. In Odisha, 60.55% of eligible voters cast their ballots, while Uttar Pradesh recorded a turnout of 55.80%. Jammu and Kashmir saw a slightly lower participation rate at 54.21%, and Bihar reported 52.35% voter turnout.
Maharashtra registered the lowest voter turnout in this phase, with only 48.66% of eligible voters participating in the electoral process.
These figures highlight the varying degrees of voter engagement across the country, with some regions demonstrating robust democratic participation while others showed more modest involvement. As the Lok Sabha elections progress, the Election Commission continues to encourage citizens to exercise their right to vote and contribute to the democratic process.
