“Whom Should Believe, PM Or Banks?”: Vijay Mallya

Mumbai: On Thursday, fugitive escaper Businessman Vijay Mallya took a jibe against Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his the contradictory statement made in London court regarding money laundering and recovery of it which he owed PSUs.

“None other than the Prime Minister of India specifically says in an interview that his Government has recovered more money than I allegedly owe PSU Banks and the same Banks claim otherwise in English Courts. Who does one believe? One or the other is lying”, Mallya tweeted saying.

In an interview to Republic Bharat news channel, PM Modi has expressed his satisfaction over the full recovery of money from Vijay Mallya and over the fact that his case in a British court is in its last stage.

“We have brought a government that enabled the law to seize the properties of fugitives. We have seen in Vijay Mallya’s case where he owed Rs 9,000 crores but India government has confiscated Rs 14,000 crores leading tension to Vijay Mally as we have taken double the amount”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in an interview to Republic Bharat news channel’s Editor in chief Arnab Goswami.

Vijay Mallya is been alleged in money laundering case for Rs 9,000 crores and is now currently facing trial at the court of London.
