“Why Should It Bother Me,” Devendra Fadnavis On Shiv Sena CM Aspirations

Mumbai: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis lambasted all the rumours between BJP and its ally Shiv Sena said both parties are working together and maintained good relations.

Responding to the question on Shiv Sena’s reported aspirations regarding the CM post, Fadnavis, in an exclusive interview with Times Now said- “Why should it bother me. Right now, there is no dispute over this.”

You run a party to come to power. And while running a party, you want the country or state run by your party. They (Shiv Sena) have not said that they (claim CM’s post) will do it tomorrow or next year. Fadnavis said during the interview, I have shared good relations with Uddhav Thackeray, Sena…. There is no dispute on this right now.

Facing criticism over the current state of the economy, Fadnavis said that the economic slowdown is a global phenomenon that has affected the world for five years. He said that the growth rate may be lower by 5.8 percent compared to last year, but the government has taken several measures that will revive the economy.

Fadnavis also assured that the perpetrators of the PMC scam would be ‘punished’ and said that the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) had confiscated the assets of the promoters. He further said that those affected by the PMC scam will get justice. He said that he would meet PM Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss the issue.

Maharashtra will go to polls on 21 October. The results will be announced on October 24. BJP is contesting 164 seats, while Shiv Sena will contest 124 seats.
