Mumbai: While appreciating India’s efforts to move away from Iran and Venezuela’s oil imports, US Secretary Mike Pompeo said that it will do everything to ensure that it supplies enough raw materials.
“You [India] have made tough choices to cut oil imports from Iran and go away from Venezuela’s purchase of oil. We [the United States] know that these decisions were not without cost. We are doing everything that you have enough raw import. We appreciate your help in treating these registrars (Iran and Venezuela) he said speaking at ‘India Policy Programme’ here.
In a joint press conference with Jaishankar after the talks, Pompeo had said that India and the United States would seek ways to address business-related issues and ways to resolve the S400 missile deal between New Delhi and Moscow.
“When I think of two issues (trade and S400), I think of them as real opportunities; the things I know that we can work together and both (between the two countries) The foundation of the relationship will provide, “said Pompeo.
The Secretary of State is on a three-day visit to India. Earlier in the day, Pompeo held talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
