With Highest Single Day Spike Of 17,296 COVID19 Cases India’s Tally Nears 5 Lakh-Mark

Mumbai: According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), India’s COVID-19 count reached 4,90,401 on Friday, with the highest single-day spike of 17,296 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

There were 407 deaths in the last 24 hours in the country, bringing the death toll to 15,301. According to MoHFW the total cases include 1,89,463 active cases, 2,85,637cured/discharged cases.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested till June 25 was 77,76,228 while the number of samples tested on June 25 is 2,15,446.

Maharashtra is the worst-affected state in the country with 1,47,741 cases. There are 63,357 active cases in the state. The number of people recovering or being discharged is 77,453 while the death toll is 6,931.

So far 73,780 cases have been reported in Delhi. There were 26,586 active cases in the national capital. While fine and discharged numbers were 44,765. The death toll in the city is 2,429.

So far, there have been 70,977 COVID cases in Tamil Nadu. With active cases at 30,067 and 39,999 with the number of cured or discharged cases, while the death figure was 911.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that till the time a vaccine is not developed for COVID-19, all have to maintain ‘do gaj ki doori’ (two yards distance) and wear face masks.
