Mumbai: Aam Aadmi Party‘s (AAP’s) rebel MLA Kapil Mishra ahead of Delhi Assembly Election results lambasted on his former boss and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by saying that it shouldn’t be surprising if Kejriwal loses election from the New Delhi seat.
Speaking to ANI, Mishra said, “The people’s mandate lies with the BJP. We know the reality that we have worked on the ground. I must say that it would not be a surprise if Kejriwal is defeated by the New Delhi assembly constituency.”
The BJP leader pulled up the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of which he was a former member and served as a minister in Kejriwal’s cabinet to question the functioning of the Election Commission over the delay in announcing the final poll percentage.
Mishra later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after falling out with the AAP leadership.
“It is worrying that the AAP is raising fingers at the Election Commission and EVMs. It is because they know the mood of the people of Delhi and feel that the BJP is going to form and win a government in the national capital,” he said.
The counting for 70 Assembly seats in Delhi will take place on Tuesday.
