Work From Home For All Private Offices In Delhi Except Those Under Exempted Category

Mumbai: All private offices in Delhi shall be closed, except those which are falling under the exempted category, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) announced on Tuesday. Also Read: India Records 1.68 Lakh New COVID-19 Cases, 6.4% Lower Than Yesterday

As per the fresh order, the practice of work from home shall be followed.

“All private offices shall remain closed except those which fall under the exemption category prescribed in DDMA order dated 08.08.2021. The practice of work from home shall be followed,” it said. Also Read: Haryana Bans Rallies, Large Gatherings; Extends Existing COVID Curbs To 8 More Districts

Till now, private offices in the city were allowed to function with 50 per cent staff attendance.

The Delhi government on Monday suspended the dine-in facility at restaurants and closed bars in the city and allowed only home delivery and takeaway of food items. Also Read: Night Curfew Imposed In Haridwar On Makar Sankranti, Ban On Devotees Taking Holy Dip

The decision comes amid an alarming rise in the cases of coronavirus and its omicron type in the national capital. The city recorded over 19,000 new cases of coronavirus yesterday and 17 more deaths due to the infection.

In the first 10 days of this month, Delhi has recorded 70 COVID-related deaths, which is more than the combined deaths recorded in the city in the last five months.

While 70 COVID patients have died in the capital in the first 10 days of January, 54 deaths were recorded in the last five months – nine in December, seven in November, 4 in October, five in September and 29 in August.
