World Cup 2019: Pakistan 23 Cricketing Probables

Mumbai: Ahead of the 2019 World Cup which will be starting on May 30 in England, Pakistan National Selection Committee has invited 23 players for the fitness test for their squad in World Cup.

The test would be undertaken on the grounds of Lahore in National Cricket Academy which will run from April 15 to 16th, with the squad announcement on 18th of April as per the statement.

In the recent series played against Australia, the selectors are sure about the in-form Batsman Mohammad Abbas, Shan Masood who has scored a half century during the series.

Mohammad Hasnain, whom Shane Watson has considered to be as a fast teen he had ever batted against, would also be selected.

The 33-year-old Wahab Riaz, whose fiery spell against Australia was one of the enduring memories of the last World Cup, fails to find a spot in the list of probables.

Umar Akmal, who is part of the Pakistan squad currently taking on Australia in an ODI series, has also been ignored. Ahmed Shehzad, another senior player, has also failed to get a look-in.

List of probables: Sarfaraz Ahmed (captain), Abid Ali, Asif Ali, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Hassan Ali, Imad Wasim, Imam-ul-Haq, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Shoaib Malik, Usman Shinwari, Yasir Shah

Pakistan will depart on April 23 to play a practise match against Kent, followed by a 50 over match with Northamptonshire.
