Yellow Alert Issued By IMD As Monsoon Strikes Kerala

Mumbai: Indian Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert in nine districts of Kerala as Monsoon strikes the state in early June.

The nine districts are as follows: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram, and Kannur.

The temperature is expected to go down to 25 degrees during the day as predicted by the IMD after the heavy downpour in the state.

IMD has also warned low-pressure area building on the western coast in the Arabian Sea that will develop into a ‘cyclonic storm’ and will move towards Maharashtra and Gujarat, causing rainfall in the States on June 3 and 4 respectively.
