President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Prime Minister's National Children's Award on 22 January
Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted with the 49 children who are winners of the Prime Minister’s Bal Bal Award 2020, and said that they have shown the courage to fight tough situations.
Prime Minister Modi said, “I am surprised that all of you have done incredible tasks at such an age. It must have inspired you to do more good things in future. You have shown the courage to fight tough situations.”

The 49 awards are from different fields, one of which is from Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. Children are winners in the fields of arts and culture, innovation, educational, social service, sports and bravery.
Any child with exceptional achievements in the fields of innovation, scholastic achievements, social service, arts and culture, sports and bravery can apply for the award. Also, anyone who knows of the commendable achievement by a child can recommend this child for the award. A high-level committee selects the winners after careful consideration of each application.
