DMK Releases Party Manifesto For Tamil Nadu Election, Assures A Subsidy Of Rs 100 On LPG Gas cylinders

Mumbai: DMK President MK Stalin on Saturday released the party’s manifesto for the elections to be held on 6 April.

In the manifesto, the party which has been out of power since 2011 has promised a reduction in petrol and diesel prices by Rs 5 and Rs 4 per litre respectively.

Apart from this, Stalin has also assured a subsidy of Rs 100 on LPG gas cylinders. In particular, the Stalin-led DMK is making a comeback by opposing the ruling AIADMK. This has made the Congress, the Left, MDMK, VCK and other smaller organizations a rainbow coalition, giving them 61 seats out of a total of 234 seats.

While Congress is contesting on 25 seats, Communist Party of India-Marxist and Communist Party of India in six seats, Union of Indian Muslim League in three and MMK in two seats.

Stalin retains the highest number of MLAs, including senior sitting Durai Murugan, KN Nehru, K Ponmudi and MRK Panneerselvam – all former ministers.

Addressing a press conference at DMK headquarters Anna Aryalayam, the DMK chief said Thanga will contest against Tamilselvan, Die CM O Panneerselvam and T Sampatkumar will face CM E Palaniswamy in Edappadi.
