West Bengal Polls: Sharad Pawar To Campaign In Support Of Mamata Banerjee From April 1

Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar will support West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and campaign in the state for elections next week. He will also hold rallies, press conferences and Trinamool Congress (TMC) cadres during his visit to the state.

Confirming Pawar’s program, Maharashtra NCP chief spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said, “NCP chief Sharad Pawar to campaign in West Bengal in support of Mamata Banerjee.”

“He will be on a three-day visit to the state from April 1, meeting Mamata Banerjee and TMC workers at various rallies, press conferences and Trinamool Bhavan,” he said.

The announcement has come amid Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) final push to woo the voters in West Bengal. BJP leaders Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Yogi Adityanath will be addressing several public rallies in the state, while Mithun Chakraborty and Gautam Gambhir will be conducting roadshows.

Elections to the 294-member state Assembly will be held in eight phases starting from March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 2
