A Rogue Individual Is Trying To Harass Me; It Is Fake News: Sonakshi On warrant

Mumbai: Actress Sonakshi Sinha has said reports claiming that a non-bailable warrant has been issued against her for not attending an event in Delhi after allegedly taking ₹37 lakh in advance are “fake”.

The report claimed that the actress had taken a hefty amount to attend an event, but she could not attend, following which the organizers of the event demanded her money back. Responding to this, Sonakshi has called it baseless and fake. She has mentioned in her statement that the matter is sub-judice.

Sonakshi took to her official Instagram and wrote, “There have been rumours of a non bailable warrant issued against me floating in the media, without any verification from any authorities since a few days now. This is pure fiction and the work of a rogue individual trying to harass me. I request all media houses, journalists and news reporters not to carry this fake news as it is playing into this individual’s agenda to gain publicity. This man is purely trying to gain some publicity and extort money from me by attacking my reputation which i have very proudly built over the years, by planting these malicious articles in the media. Kindly do not participate in this harassment charade. This matter is subjudice before the Muradabad court and has been stayed by the Allahabad High Court. My legal team will be taking all the necessary action against him for contempt of court.”

She further writes, “This will be my only comment on this matter until the Muradabad Court has passed its verdict, so please do not approach me for the same. I am home and I can assure you there are no warrants issued against me.”

Earlier this week it was reported that a non-bailable warrant had been issued against Sonakshi Sinha in a fraud case that accuses the actress of being a no-show at an event she had reportedly been paid over ₹ 30 lakh for.

The organiser of the event, Pramod Sharma, alleged that he paid the actress to attend the event in question as a chief guest but she failed to show; he filed the fraud case in Moradabad and is presumably the person Sonakshi Sinha has accused of attempting to harass and extort her.

Sonakshi Sinha made her debut opposite Salman Khan in the 2010 film Dabangg; she was last seen in Bhuj: The Pride Of India.
