Salman Khan Firing: Actor Speaks To CM Shinde; 15 Police Teams Begin Hunting For Accused

Mumbai: Hours after two unidentified motorbike riders opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met with the star over the phone.

In talks with the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Shinde also recommended stepping up Salman Khan’s protection. According to reliable police sources, a suitable security evaluation is underway in light of the fire event.

A police report has been filed against the unidentified individuals in relation to the gunshots outside Salman Khan’s home. According to police sources, the weapon used in the firing was a 7.62.

The motorcyclists headed towards the Western Express Highway from the Galaxy flats, according to sources, who added that it’s possible the men moved outside of Mumbai.

According to sources, up to fifteen police teams have been assembled to find and apprehend the accused. Leading police officers from Mumbai, including encounter specialist Daya Nayak and Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Lakhmi Gautam, arrive outside the actor’s residence as their inquiry gets underway.

According to Mumbai Police, Salman Khan was at his residence when the shooting occurred, and shots were fired into the air.
Notably, until the incident involving the dismissal, the actor had not received any threats.

The area outside Khan’s home has been more heavily guarded, and forensic specialists and police officers were observed working on the investigation. Five people’s statements have been recorded thus far, according to the police.

“A forensic team is also on site, and the security surrounding the actor’s flat at Galaxy Apartments has been stepped up. In order to identify the culprit, we are reviewing the CCTV material from the area and the neighbourhood,” the police continued.

As per preliminary probe, police said that around three rounds were fired outside the Galaxy Apartments — Khan’s home — in Mumbai’s Banda area around 5 am.

Raj Tilak Roushan, DCP Mumbai, told news agency ANI, “Today at around 5 am, two unidentified people opened fire outside the house of actor Salman Khan in Bandra. Police have received information about 3 rounds of firing. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway in the case,” adding that “no one was injured in the firing incident.”

Salman Khan got a menacing email last year from Goldy Brar, a Canadian-based fugitive mobster who had publicly stated that Khan was on his gang’s hit list.

In response to the email threat, Mumbai Police filed a formal complaint under IPC Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 506-II (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar as well as an additional individual.

The Bishnoi Gang allegedly sent the Bollywood star a death threat, leading to him being given Y+ protection.
