Gehana Vasisth’s Anticipatory Bail Plea In Porn Case Rejected By Bombay HC

Mumbai: Bombay High Court on Tuesday rejected actress Gehana Vasisth’s anticipatory bail plea in a pornography films case, following which her lawyer said they will move the Supreme Court.

Vasisth was arrested by the Property Cell of Crime Branch Mumbai for her alleged role in the shooting and uploading of porn films on a website.

Earlier in August, a sessions court in Mumbai had also rejected his anticipatory bail plea in connection with the FIR lodged against him at the Malwani police station, which was later transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch.

Vashisht filed the anticipatory bail plea in connection with the FIR registered under sections 354C (outraging modesty of woman), 292 and 293 (sale of obscene material) of the IPC, sections 66E and 67A of the IT Act.

The complainant alleged that Vashisht “forced” her to act in pornographic films, which were later sold to Hotshots, owned by Raj Kundra’s company. The complaint alleges that Gehana Vashistha directed these films.

Advocate Abhishek Yende, representing Vasisth, had earlier told the High Court that his client allegedly has a ‘No Objection’ from the complainant, and thus arguing that IPC section 370 (regarding forced labour, trafficking) shouldn’t be added to the list of charges.
