Police Personnel In Madhya Pradesh To Get Leave To Watch ‘The Kashmir Files’

Mumbai: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday said he has informed the DGP to grant leave for one day to all police personnel in the state to watch Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, whenever they choose to do so with their families.

The MP told the press that he has given instructions to Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena for this, and also said that he thinks it is a very good film. He further added that a prominent role has been played by an actor from Bhopal in the film.

Earlier on Sunday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had decided to exempt the film from entertainment tax in the state.

In a tweet on Sunday, CM Chouhan had said the film is a “heart-wrenching narration of the pain, suffering, struggle, and trauma faced by Kashmiri Hindus in the 90s”.

He said the movie needs to be watched by maximum people, hence the state government has decided to make it tax-free.
