1 Army Pilot Killed, 1 Injured In Helicopter Crash Near LoC In Kashmir

Mumbai: One of the two pilots in the Indian Army Cheetah helicopter that crashed earlier today in North Kashmir’s Gurez sector has died, Army officials said.

He said the injured co-pilot has been taken to a medical facility.

An official told PTI that the helicopter was about to land but it “got lost” due to weather conditions.

The accident took place near the Gujran drain in the Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Officials said rescue teams were sent on foot while aerial reconnaissance teams were searching for survivors.
