Ram Lalla To Take 1-hr Afternoon Rest As He Can’t Take Stress For 18 hrs: Priest

Mumbai: Acharya Satyendra Das of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple said Ram Lalla will be given an hour’s rest in the afternoon, from 12:30-1:30 pm. “The priest contends that the deity Ram Lalla is but a child and cannot be given much stress.

Following the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple, the temple trust has extended the ‘darshan’ hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. to accommodate the large number of devotees. Since January 23, the deity has been roused up at 4 a.m. for two-hour ceremonies. Then, at 6 a.m., the ‘darshan’ begins, which lasts until 10 p.m. Following that, nighttime rituals last two hours.

Acharya Satyendra Das said, “ Shri Ram Lalla is a five-year-old child and he cannot take such stress for continuous 18 hours. So to give some rest to the child deity, it has been decided that the doors of the temple will remain closed from 12:30 to 1:30 in the afternoon, so that Ram Lalla may take some rest.”

Before the consecration event, the darshan hours were from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a two-hour break from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
