2 Weeks For The Premiere Of Lilly Singh’s Late Night Show On NBC

Mumbai: YouTuber Lilly Singh landed her own NBC late-night show, making her the only woman late-night host on broadcast TV. Singh announced her new gig on “The Tonight Show.”

The 30-year-old Indian Canadian video creator has more than 14 million subscribers on YouTube, where she advocates for women’s empowerment alongside comedy, music, and vlog-style videos. Singh is also an actor and activist with roles in “Fahrenheit 451” and “Bad Moms.” She has also served as a UN Goodwill Ambassador since 2017.

She is the author of the New York Times bestseller “How to Be a Bawse: A Guide to Conquering Life” and has appeared on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Hollywood & Entertainment, Fast Company’s Most Creative People and Time called her one of the most influential people on the internet.

Many are excited for Singh, a bisexual woman of color, to bring more diverse representation to late-night shows.

She will take over the late-night NBC slot held by Carson Daly, whose show the Last Call is wrapping up after 17 years.

Singh’s show will be called A Little Late with Lilly Singh, airing weekdays at 1:35 a.m., after Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show and Seth Meyers’ Late Night, from September 2019.

A Little Late will run for 30 minutes and see Singh conducting in-studio interviews as well as running pre-taped comedy sketches and segments. She said the show would be “kind of like my YouTube channel, but now I have more than three staff members.”
