70% Of India’s Adults Have Got First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine: Health Minister

Mumbai: Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Monday announced that 70% of India’s adult population has been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“Strong Nation, Rapid Vaccination: India has administered the first dose of #COVID19 vaccination to 70% of the population. Under PM @NarendraModi ji, India is achieving new landmarks in the fight against the pandemic. Keep it up India, let us fight Corona,” Mandaviya said in a tweet.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the government has given 90.79 crore vaccine doses so far. While a total of 23,46,176 doses were administered in the last 24 hours, more than 593 million doses were administered in the first 104 days, which was launched as the world’s largest free-for-all vaccination campaign.

As reported earlier, India’s active caseload currently stands at 2,64,458. This is the lowest in the last 200 days. The number of active cases in the country is less than one per cent of the total cases. According to the updates shared by the Health Ministry, the recovery rate in the country stands at 97.89 per cent, the highest since March 2020.
