8 People Killed, Several Injured After Mini Bus Falls Into Gorge in J&K’s Doda

Mumbai: At least eight people were killed and several others injured when a mini-bus fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The bus was on its way from Thathri in Doda district towards Doda town when it met with an accident.

Doda’s Additional Superintendent of Police said that the rescue work is going on at the place where the bus fell.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh confirmed that eight people have died in the accident in Thathri.

“Just now spoke to DC Doda Vikas Sharma, the injured being shifted to GMC Doda; Whatever further assistance required will be provided,” Singh tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed his condolences over the deaths in the road accident at Thatri.

The PM said an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each will be provided from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives. The injured will be given Rs 50,000 each.
