Actor Rio Kapadia Of ‘Chak De! India’ Fame Passes Away

Mumbai: On September 14, Bollywood actor Rio Kapadia passed away. He was most known for his roles in the flicks Chak De! India, Happy New Year, and Dil Chahta Hai. The entire industry was horrified by his sudden demise.

He passed away on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife Maria and daughter Farah.

In a public statement, a close friend of Kapadia said, “Dear friends, with great regret I wish to inform you guys that our dear friend Rio Kapadia passed away at 12:30 pm today.”

On Friday, September 15, in Mumbai, the final rituals for Kapadia will be performed in his presence.

In some of the biggest Bollywood films, Kapadia portrayed a number of iconic parts. As the pundit in Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De! India, he is well-known.

He most recently appeared in Made in Heaven 2, as Mrunal Thakur’s father.

Kapadia has appeared in a number of television ads throughout the course of a career spanning close to three decades. Not only that, but he has also appeared in a number of well-known television programmes, including Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kutumb, Judwa Raja, and Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.

He played King Gandhar in the Mahabharat television series in 2013, and for his portrayal of the powerful king, he received appreciation.
