Mumbai :Mahesh Bhatt’s 1991 superhit ,Sadak, went on to become one of the most successful films of it’s time. 27 years later , the filmmaker is back with the sequel of the blockbuster , starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, with Sadak’s original star Sanjay Dutt.
Mahesh Bhatt last directed Kartoos in 1999 and it took a truly special film to mark his return behind the camera.
Sources reveal that since Aditya Roy Kapur has been a lucky mascot for the Bhatt camp, with Aashiqui 2 being their biggest hit, the filmmaker was keen on pairing him opposite Alia in the film, that also marks their very first collaboration.
Says a trade source, “This seems to be a great year for Aditya Roy Kapur since he is part of Kalank and Sadak 2, both of which are highly anticipated films. He and Alia have been cast opposite each other in both films and trade circles are excited with this fresh onscreen pair”.
