Mumbai: Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh has once again courted controversy over the fertility rate of Hindus and Muslims and said that considering the rate at which they are reproducing, both religions will be at the same level by 2028.
In the video, he said that very soon Muslims in India will be the majority and Hindus will be in minority.
He added that a study based on the census in India shows a decline in fertility rate in Muslims has been more than Hindus, since 1951.
“A study shows that since 1951, the decline in fertility rate in Muslims has been more than that in Hindus. Today, the fertility rate in Muslims is 2.7% & 2.3% in Hindus. By this rate, it will be equal in Hindus & Muslims by 2028” Digvijay Singh said in the video.

Later, he further added, “Asaduddin Owaisi says Muslims are in danger, whereas Modi claims Hindus are in danger.” He assured that neither of the communities but Modi himself is in danger.
He made these claims while taking a dig at those alleging that Muslims are increasing in number at a rate that they will outnumber Hindus soon.
