Chiranjeevi Announces Free Vaccination For Tollywood Cine Artists

Mumbai: Actor Chiranjeevi Konidela-led Corona Crisis Charity (CCC) has announced that it will supply free COVID-19 vaccines to cinema workers in the Telugu film industry.

Organized in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals, the drive will be open to all above 45. Last year, the CCC was launched by Chiranjeevi along with other Tollywood celebrities to help workers in the Telugu film industry when they were badly hit by the lockdown.

To be eligible for the vaccination campaign, artists and journalists must register themselves through their respective associations or organizations. After this, a schedule will be prepared and the beneficiaries will be vaccinated accordingly. The drive, which will last for a month, applies to wives who are above 45.

Making the announcement on social media, Chiranjeevi appealed to people to come forward to take the vaccine from COVID-19 to protect the film industry. The actor further said that those who get vaccinated will get 24/7 free consultation with Apollo doctors for the next three months and will also be given any necessary medicines at concessional rates.

With the second wave of COVID-19, the number of cases in the country is rising alarmingly upwards. Due to this, the Telangana government has announced that all the establishments, including cinema theatres, will be allowed to remain open till 8 pm only.

On the other hand, the Telugu Film Producers Council decided to continue shooting the film with only 50% capacity on the set as a precaution.

Meanwhile, Telangana registered 6,542 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday and 20 deaths. Of these new cases, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) alone reported 898 cases, as per the latest bulletin released by the state Health Department.
