CM Yogi Adityanath Declares Film ‘The Kashmir Files’ Tax-Free in UP

Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took to Twitter to announce that Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been made tax-free in the state.  Also Read: Those Who Talk Of Freedom Of Expression Trying To Discredit ‘The Kashmir Files’: PM Narendra Modi

“In Uttar Pradesh, The Kashmir Files film has been made tax-free,” Yogi Adityanath, who last week won a second term as chief minister in the 2022 UP Assembly polls, tweeted.

The film has now been made tax-free in several other BJP-ruled states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Karnataka, Uttarakhand and Haryana.

Set at the centre of a growing controversy, the film is based on the mass murders and exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s.

The film has so far collected Rs 42.20 crore at the box office within just four days of its release.

The film has been written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar.
