Confirmed: Taapsee Pannu To Play Mithali Raj In Biopic Shabaash Mithu

Mumbai: After back to back hits Taapsee Pannu will be seen playing the cricketer’s role in Indian cricket women’s team captain Mithali Raj’s biopic film.

The actress will be playing the lead role in the biopic film Shabaash Mithu.

While there were reports that the Pink actress would play the role of a cricketer in a later biopic, Taapsee never confirmed it. Today, on Mithali Raj’s birthday, Taseep took to social media to announce the news.

Confirming that development, Taapsee Pannu shared a number of pictures of herself with the skipper in which Mithali is seen cutting a cake. Along with the pictures, Taapsee wrote, “Happy Happy Birthday Captain @mithaliraj! You have made all of us proud in more than many ways and it’s truly an honor to be chosen to showcase your journey on screen. On this Birthday of yours I don’t know what gift I can give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with #ShabaashMithu. PS- I am all prepared to learn THE cover drive’ #HappyBirthdayCaptain (sic).”

Apart from Shabaash Mithu, in which Taapsee will be seen playing the role of a cricketer, the actress will appear in another biopic of Gujarati athlete Rashmi. The film is titled Rashmi Rocket and a motion poster of the film was released earlier this year.
