Delhi Will Report Less Than 5,000 COVID Cases Today, Situation In Control: Jain

Mumbai: COVID-19 situation is in control in the national capital, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Thursday. ”

Speaking to news agency ANI, he also said the positivity rate in the national capital will also decline from the current 10 per cent.

“The Covid situation is in control. Today Delhi will report less than 5,000 cases and the positivity rate will also come down from the existing 10 per cent,” said Mr Jain.

Wednesday’s health bulletin said 11,164 patients were discharged in a day and hospitals had less than 15 per cent beds.

The city had reported 5,760 new Covid cases on Monday with a positivity rate of 11.79 per cent and 30 deaths. A day later, 6,028 new cases of Kovid were reported and 31 deaths were reported with a positivity rate of 10.55 per cent.

The number of daily cases in Delhi has been on the decline after touching a high of 28,867 on January 13. The city had recorded a positivity rate of 30.6 per cent on January 15, the highest during the ongoing wave of Covid infections.
