Even I am Asking For Proof Of Surgical Strikes: Telangana CM KCR

Mumbai: On the eve of the third anniversary of the Pulwama attack, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was not wrong in asking for proof of the surgical strike.

Addressing media persons, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief said that not only Gandhi, but he also wants to see the evidence of the surgical strike.

“There is nothing wrong in Rahul Gandhi asking for proof of surgical strike. What was wrong. Even I am asking. Let the government of India show as there are apprehensions amongst the people,” the Telangana CM said.

He also accused the BJP of propagating a false agenda. Rao further said, “In a democracy, you are not the king or the emperor.”

“The BJP is using surgical strike politically. The Army is fighting at the border. If anyone is dying, it’s Army personnel, and they should be given credit for it, not BJP,” he said.

Rao’s remarks came after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attacked Rahul Gandhi for demanding proof of the surgical strike.

In February 2016, Pakistan-sponsored terrorists attacked a CPRP convoy in South Kashmir, killing 40 soldiers.

Taking vengeance for the cowardly attack, the Modi government on February 26, 2019, gave a green signal to the Indian Air Force (IAF) to conduct airstrikes targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan’s Balakot.

Earlier in 2016, the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and destroyed terror launchpads. This attack was done to avenge the terrorist attack in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, in which 18 Indian soldiers lost their lives.

Following the surgical strikes, Congress and AAP had demanded proof of surgical strikes operation.
