Former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh Loses To AAP’s Ajit Pal Singh Kohli From Patiala

Mumbai: Former Punjab CM and Punjab Lok Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh have lost to Aam Aadmi Party leader Ajit Pal Singh Kohli from the Patiala seat in Assembly elections.

Kohli, who quit the Shiromani Akali Dal party, joined Aam Aadmi Party in January this year.

In the last election of 2017, his victory margin was 49 per cent.

Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party is heading for a massive victory in Punjab, with the ruling Congress far behind.

Amarinder Singh formed his own party, the Punjab Lok Congress, after splitting from the Congress after being sacked as chief minister in September.

Mr. Singh, or “Captain”, contested the election in alliance with the BJP.
