Himachal’s Kinnaur Becomes India’s 1st District To Fully Vaccinate 100% Adults: Official
Mumbai: Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur has become the first district in India to fully vaccinate 100% of its eligible population against COVID-19, said Kinnaur DC Abid Hussain Sadiq.
According to the official, 60,305 eligible people were given both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
“Kinnaur is the first district across the country to achieve this feat. We’ve achieved our target of vaccinating all the eligible population: Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq.
Kinnaur achieved this milestone on Wednesday.
As per Health ministry data on Thursday, India has administered a cumulative 96.82 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. As of now, 73% of adults have been given single doses and 30% are fully vaccinated in the nation.
India will cross the mark of 100 crores vaccination doses by the end of October.
India reported 14,313 new COVID-19 cases and 181 deaths in the last 24 hours.
