I Blame Society For Making Me To Take Up Engineering: Badshah

Mumbai: In a recent interview with ‘Mirror Now’ the renowned rapper Badshah spoke up about his life. The 33-year-old rapper said money goes easy from his hand. He is a spender. But this confident and stylish rapper once was forced by his parents to take up engineering.

In India, every student irrespective of their interests are guided by their parents to take up some kind of engineering, though the students might choose something else over it later. According to Badshah engineering has always been Indian parents’ first choice. And this in a way is a calculative effect of the society.

He also talked about money being an integral part of anyone’s life. But according to him, money has never been his first priority while making music, it is just a by-product. “Money is a resource and it is important to have money for production, promotion and everything… But music is my passion and the money I get by making music is a bonus. I can live without music but I can’t live without music,” he said when asked whether he considers money when he takes up projects.

Looking back at his college days he said it was his parents who made him take up engineering. He went to St. Stephen college before but then got admitted to a Civil engineering college. Aditya Singh a.k.a Badshah also owned a job at a construction site. But he hardly liked going to the site with a yellow helmet. Music was his passion and he is grateful to be doing what he does and glad he could please his listeners.

Badshah will be seen in the movie ‘ Khandani Shafkhana’ as Gabru Ghataak opposite Sonakshi Sinha who will play a role of Babita ‘baby’ bedi. After a long wait Badshah has finally stepped into movies. The movie Khandani Shafkhana will be released on 2nd August 2019.
