India Creating Record By Giving 1.25 Cr COVID-19 Vaccines Daily: PM

Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi on Monday said India is creating a record by administering 1.25 crore COVID-19 vaccines daily, which is higher than the population of several countries.

He added over 70 crore doses have been administered in the country so far.

Earlier, Modi interacted with health workers and beneficiaries of the COVID vaccination program in the state through video conference. Modi is literally talking to health workers to appreciate their efforts.

He also lauded Himachal Pradesh for administering the first dose of vaccine to all of its eligible population.

While interacting with Dr Rahul posted at Dodra Quar Civil Hospital in Shimla district, Modi said that 10 per cent expenditure can be saved if all the 11 shots in a single vial are used while administering the Covid vaccine.

The Prime Minister lauded Karmo Devi, a health worker from Una, who vaccinated people despite having a fractured leg. Devi told Modi that she has so far administered 22,500 vaccines.

Meanwhile, Nawang Upshak of Lahaul-Spiti told Modi that the Atal Tunnel has given a boost to the tourism sector in the tribal district and 700-800 local residents have sought authorization to open homestays.
