‘KGF 2’ Collects ₹600 Cr Globally, Becomes 9th Highest-Grossing Indian Film

Mumbai: KGF: Chapter 2′ has collected over ₹600 crores globally within five days of its release and has become the ninth highest-grossing Indian film of all time, as per film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.

The Yash-starrer has done well in India as well as overseas, taking its total worldwide gross to ₹625 crores. This means that the film has already entered the list of the top-10 highest-grossing Indian films. This is the second film of the year to break the list after SS Rajamouli’s RRR.

Film trade analyst Manobala Vijaybalan tweeted the details of KGF 2’s earnings on Tuesday afternoon.

Earning ₹625 crores means that KGF 2 has surpassed titles like Padmavat, Sanju and Sultan. Going by the trends, by the end of the week, Baahubali – The Beginning (₹650 Cr) and 2.0 (₹656 Cr) are certainly within its reach, the film stands to lead a few more places.

The Hindi dubbed version of the film is also breaking records at the box office. Within five days of its release, the Hindi version of KGF 2 has crossed ₹200 crore in earnings.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, it earned ₹25 crore on Monday, taking its total five-day gross to ₹219 crores. “#KGF2 is unstoppable… superb hold on a working day [Mon]… Eyes ₹270 cr [+/-] in *extended Week 1*… Should cross #Dangal *lifetime biz*, if it maintains the pace… Thu 53.95 cr, Fri 46.79 cr, Sat 42.90 cr, Sun 50.35 cr, Mon 25.57 cr. Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 is a follow-up to the Kannada blockbuster KGF Chapter 1. Featuring Yash in the lead role, the first part follows the story of a downtrodden man who later turns into a dangerous gangster.

In the sequel, Yash’s character Rocky is trying to consolidate his newly acquired gold-mining empire. The sequel also stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash, John Cocaine and Saran.
