Madhya Pradesh Crosses 9 Crore Vaccination Mark, 70% Population Fully Vaccinated: CM

A state-wide vaccination campaign will be organized for 3 days for 100% double-dose coverage in state

Mumbai: After Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra & West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh became the 4th state to complete 9 crore administration of COVID-19 vaccine doses on Sunday.

Taking to Twitter, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan shared the information and thanked every person involved in achieving this milestone.

“Delighted to inform you that we have succeeded in administering more than 9 Crore doses of #COVID19 vaccination in the state. My heartfelt gratitude to health workers, social workers, voluntary organizations, members of CMG, & all those actively engaged in achieving this milestone,” Chouhan tweeted.

Three mega vaccinations days will be organized for 100% double-dose coverage in the state.

“So far 94% of people in the state have got the 1st dose & 70% of people have been vaccinated with the 2nd dose as well. We are committed to achieving 100% vaccination in the state by Dec 2021. A state-wide vaccination campaign will be organized on Dec 8,15 & 22 for this purpose,” MP Chief Minister said in a tweet.

With 70% fully vaccinated citizens, Madhya Pradesh is ahead of the remaining three states, as UP & West Bengal are at 50% and Maharastra at 60%.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh has seen an increase in COVID cases with an active count of 133. On Sunday Madhya Pradesh imparted 1.53 lakh doses, which was the fourth-highest for any state in the country.

India has fully vaccinated more than 50% of its adult population within 11 months since the drive began.
