Malik Approaches Bombay HC Seeking Quashing Of Money Laundering Case

Mumbai: Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik have approached Bombay High Court seeking to quash a money laundering case registered by Enforcement Directorate against him.

Malik, in his petition, has argued that his arrest was illegal and sought his immediate release. The ED has also summoned Nawab Malik’s son Faraz Malik in the case.

Earlier, the agency had also summoned Malik’s brother Captain Malik. Malik has been sent to ED custody till March 3. A Mumbai court has sent him to ED custody for seven days in a money laundering case.

Earlier in February, the ED had raided the residence of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar in Mumbai in connection with a money laundering case.

Sources said that the ED raided several places in Mumbai related to the underworld.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party had demanded the resignation of the Minister of State, but the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA– comprising Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP) government has rejected the demand for the resignation of Nawab Malik.
