NCP’s Malik, Deshmukh Seek SC Nod To Attend Maha Floor Test

Mumbai: Jailed NCP leaders Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh have moved the Supreme Court seeking permission to participate in the floor test in Maharashtra Assembly on Thursday.

A vacation bench of Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala was told by advocate Sudhanshu S Chowdhury that both the MLAs have been booked under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and are in jail.

He said that both the leaders want to take part in the Maharashtra Assembly floor test to be held on Thursday at 11 am.

Choudhary said they are taking up an intervention application, which is likely to come up for hearing after Shiv Sena leader Sunil Prabhu challenges the decision taken by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari asking the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to prove a majority on Thursday.

The bench then said it would take up their application at 5.30 pm
