Not Interested In What Industry Is Doing, What The Trends Are: Konkana Sen Sharma

Mumbai: Konkana Sen Sharma: The actor-director who has earned her status as one of the most versatile contemporary performers.

She said she has the least interest in film industry trends.

“I don’t care. I am not interested in what the industry is doing, what the trends are, how it’s changing. I have lost interest. I am just doing my work and make life interesting. But I hope the industry is doing well”, Konkana said in an interview here.

Konkana has contributed to change the way women portraying her performance in movies like “page3”, “Omkara”, “wake up sid”,  and “lipstick under my burkha”.

“I believed every year there are good films which are interesting or experimental. But there are a bulk of great bad films too. We have some of the fantastic films in the 70s and stuff,” she added.

In her interview, Konkana Sharma was talking about her upcoming film “Ramprasad ki Tehrvi”, directed by Seema Pahwa, at the 21st Jio MIAMI Mumbai Film Festival on Saturday evening.

Konkona’s other film, “Dolly Kitty Aur Chamakate Sitare” was shown recently at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and the actor is happy with the response the film received.

“I saw the film with the Korean audience and I think they related to it, they connected to it. I think there is something common about women, women’s lives whether it is from a developed or underdeveloped country, rich or poor, it doesn’t matter. I think it permeates through different structures,” she said.
