Pakistan Actress Mahira Khan Has Balanced Approach Towards #MeToo Movement

Mumbai: The #MeeToo movement erupted a few months back which brought many Celebrities, well-known personalities behind the bars.

The moment was flagged off by Tanushree Dutta who claimed that well-known actor Nana Patekar misbehaved with her during the shoot of Horn Ok Please in 2008.

Later on, many celebrities revealed of being part of #metoo moment.

Meanwhile, Pakistan actress Mahira Khan who is known for portraying the role of Khirad Ehsan in Momina Duraid’s Humsafar has taken a balanced approach towards the campaign that brought many high profile cases in front.

The Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has opened up about the #Metoo movement and expressed dread on social media, referring to a case in which a college professor committed suicide after being wrongly accused of sexual harassment.

Mahira tweeted: “It angers me that an innocent man would kill himself because of wrongly accused and it boils my blood that another can roam around free after raping someone. Whether you misuse the #MeToo movement or delay accountability on it, the result is the same – death.

The actor, while explaining the ones who falsely charge people of sexual harassment, also hitting for speedy trails in genuine cases.

Mahira made her debut in Bollywood industry in 2017 with Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Raees’.
