Petrol Price Hiked For 4th Day In A Row, Nears ₹115 A Litre In Mumbai

Mumbai: Petrol and diesel prices were hiked for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday, hitting new record highs.

With the latest hike of 35 paise, petrol in Delhi became Rs 108.99 per litre and diesel Rs 97.72 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol was sold at Rs 115 per litre at Rs 114.81 per litre, while diesel reached Rs 105.86.

Kolkata registered an increase of 34 paise and sold a litre of petrol at Rs 109.46. Diesel price increased by 35 paise to Rs 100.84 per litre. In Chennai, the price of petrol and diesel reached Rs 105.74 and Rs 101.92 per litre.

Fuel prices vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes. Petrol prices have been hiked 25 times since September 28, when the three-week hiatus in rate revision ended.
