Sexual Exploitation Of People In Film Industry Is So Common: Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut, while hosting the reality show ‘Lock Upp’, said sexual exploitation of young people in the film and fashion industry is common.

She also said that she was banned from the industry because she supported the victims during the #MeToo movement.

“I think sexual abuse of young people is very common, especially in the film industry and the fashion industry. No matter how much we defend the industry, it is true,” she said.

She further added, “Though it gives a lot of opportunities, it also breaks many dreams and scares people permanently. This is the dark truth.”

She further said that the women who exposed the leading men of Bollywood during the #MeToo movement are nowhere to be found.

“Even when #MeToo happened here, what happened to that? Nothing. The women who spoke have all vanished from the face of this planet. The people I supported are nowhere to be found and along with that, I was banned from the industry too,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana will next be seen in ‘Dhaakad’ directed by Rajneesh Razi Ghai and produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohail Maklai.

The film portrays him as an evil spy who displays his acting skills while taking on enemies and defeating them at their own game. The actress takes on different avatars as she busts a big racket and creates a storm. It is scheduled to release on May 20, 2022.

She will also be seen in movies including ‘Tejas’, ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda’, ‘Emergency’, and ‘The Incarnation: Sita.
