Stranded In Israel After Hamas Attacks, Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha On Her Way Home

Mumbai: Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha is in the process of being safely transported home with assistance from the Indian embassy while stranded in Israel during the fatal terror strikes by Hamas and the country’s defense forces’ retaliatory air raids.

“We managed to get in touch with Nushrratt and with the help of the Embassy, she is being brought back home safely. We did not get a direct flight so she is on a connecting flight home. For her further safety, more details cannot be shared but as soon as she lands in India, we will inform you. We are relieved and thank god that she is safe and on her way to India,” Sanchita Trivedi, Nushrratt’s publicist, told ANI.

The actor reportedly traveled to Israel to take part in the Haifa International Film Festival. On Saturday at 6:30 am (local time), a barrage of rocket fire from Gaza into Israel started, hitting Tel Aviv, Rehovot, Gedera, and Ashkelon, among other cities.

Several Hamas terrorists then invaded Israel from the Gaza Strip and seized control of Israeli towns. Muhammad Al-Deif, the military chief of Hamas, dubbed the operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” and said that it was a retaliation for assaults on women, the destruction of the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, and the continued siege of Gaza.

The number of people killed as a result of the multi-front attack by the Hamas terror group on Israel surpassed 300 on Sunday and is certain to continue to grow. According to accounts, up to 1,590 persons have suffered injuries, many of them critical. Nushrratt most recently appeared in the month-old movie “Akeli.”

The movie follows an Indian woman who becomes stuck in war-torn Iraq and shows how she battles for survival in the face of overwhelming difficulties. Pranay Meshram, who has served as an associate director on numerous occasions, is the director of “Akelli.”

Along with Vicky Sidana and Shashant Shah, the film is produced by Nitin Vaidya, Ninad Vaidya, and Aparna Padgaonkar of Dashami Studioz.
